We live in Him
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: he that abideth in Me, and I in Him, the same bright forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing". John 15:5
You are a "BRANCH" hwich beareth fruit as you participate in prayer and gift with God's work.
We work in Him
"Remember the word that I said unto you. The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also". John 5:20
We speak in Him
"And ye also shall bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning". John 15:27
The Lord Jesus Christ, our Shepherd and Example, used various persons to perform a service to humanity. Women were also called to serve. We dedicate ourselves to the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ when He said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
(Tune: The Doxology)
O Lord we thank Thee for this food,
For every blessing, every good,
For earthly sustenance and love,
Bestowed on us from heaven above.
The ladies of Grace enjoy a variety of programs and activities to "Build themselves up in the most holy faith." A loving environment provides a great opportunity in which to build this community of believers.
Our ladies organization is called the Women's Missionary (WMF). It seeks not only spiritual growth among its members but also to extend the Kingdom of God in other places by supporting the work of missionaries in the primary mission fields of the AFLC. This includes Brazil, India, Mexico and Uganda. A number of projects are routinely undertaken to provide this support during the year.
The WMF is divided into four groups called circles which meet monthly and altogether once each month. The circles conduct a Bible study based on study guides provided to all our churches by WMF writers throughout the AFLC. These meetings include lots of fellowship over refreshments. Generous helpings of comfort and consolation are provided routinely to grieving families by WMF members working to prepare and serve meals with funerals.
The South Dakota District WMF sponsors a Spring and Fall Retreat featuring missionary speakers and interesting programs. The Grace ladies were privileged to host last year's Spring Retreat and will host the Fall Retreat this year.
Members of the WMF fill positions on a Board of Deaconesses composed by six ladies. They divide among themselves areas of ministry including visiting shut -ins and those in nursing homes, baking and delivering goodies to those grieving a loss or recovering from hospitalization, providing children's lessons for Sunday worship and remembering special occasions with a greeting card.
The Grace ladies also maintain a Prayer Line to keep the congregation informed of prayer requests. Quilters produce many quilts to warm hearts as well as bodies in Jesus' name. A national WMF Convention is held every year along with the AFLC Annual Conference at different sites throughout the United States.
